What is the Barbados Ninja Throwdown?

Barbados Ninja Throwdown is a local sports entertainment competition that features some obstacles that are seen on the show, “American Ninja Warrior”, with a local twist to them. It encompasses individuals from different disciplines to complete the course in the fastest time possible. The Barbados Ninja Throwdown has a long existing partnership with the World Ninja
League. The top 10 athletes per gender, per division, per country will qualify directly to the WNL World Championships 2026!

When & Where is the Barbados Ninja Throwdown?

The Barbados Ninja Throwdown, The Ultimate 2-Day Sporting Event. Ninja action takes place on August 16th & 17th 2025 at Featherbed Lane, St. John, Barbados. Kids, Mature Kids, Pre-Teens & Masters’ Divisions will compete on Saturday, August  16th, and on Sunday, August 17th the Teens, Young Adults, Adults & Elite Divisions will challenge the course.

What course format can I expect during the Barbados Ninja Throwdown?

The Barbados Ninja Throwdown is a single stage course using the Flow Course Format that is familiar with the World Ninja League.

Do Men and Women compete together?

Men and women will most likely run the same course.

  • However, it is possible there could be changes made for a specific gender within each division.
  • Men & Women only compete against each other’s gender for prizes & standings.
  • The Top 10 per gender, per division, per country who haven’t qualified yet will qualify directly for the WNL World Championships 2026!
What is the Elite Division?

The Elite division is open to the best of the best athletes from around the world. Athletes who are 13 years and up can sign up for this Division and will be competing for the biggest cash prizes of any other division.

Who can sign up?

The BNT 2025 Competition welcomes athletes (6 yrs old & and up) from around the world! Come for the competition, come for the fun, and come for the vacation you most certainly deserve! This is literally a win-win situation you don’t want to miss out on!

What are the prizes?

The Top 10 athletes per gender, per country from all divisions will qualify DIRECTLY to the WNL World Championships 2026. The following divisions receive cash prizes: Masters, Adults & Elite(see table).

BNT Prizes

When is registration open?

Registration is now open until July 30th 2025.

When does registration close?

Registration closes when we’ve reached our cap of 200 athletes.

Is there an age limit?

The competitor’s age on January 1st, 2026 will decide what age category they fall into.
BNT 2025 allows the following age groups to sign up:

  • Kids (6-8)
  • Mature Kids (9-10)
  • Pre-Teens (11-12)
  • Teens (13-14)
  • Elite (13+)
  • Young Adults (15-17)
  • Adults (18-39)
  • Masters (40+)
What is the Registration Fee?

$80.00 USD for the Kids, Mature Kids, Pre-teens, Teens, Young Adults, Adults &
Masters Division.$120.00 USD for the Elite Division. Your registration fee also gets you a nice dry fit t-shirt, a gift bag with goodies from our sponsors, testing some of BNT’s Obstacles prior to the event.

Are there any requirements before registering?
  1. Have your Ninja Works ID ready.
    o If you competed at a WNL Event in the past, you can find your ID here: https://worldninjaleague.org/athlete-search/
    o If not, you can create one for free. When signing up, please select the correct Date of Birth and division: Your age on January 1st, 2026 will decide what Division you fall into. https://timing.ninjaworks.com/accounts/register/
  2. Book your flights to Barbados, arriving anywhere on/or before August 13th and departing on/or after August 20th 2025. Prepare a screenshot of your flight confirmation as you need to upload this during the online registration.
How do I sign up for the competition?

Can I compete in multiple divisions?

No. When you register for your division, you will have to stay in that division for the rest of the WNL season.

What are the rules of the competition?

Before the competition:

  • Athletes get one chance to test BNT Obstacles. NOT ALL OBSTACLES WILL BE TESTED AND THE COURSE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE PRIOR TO THE BARBADOS NINJA THROWDOWN EVENT.
  • Selected testing for all Divisions will take place on the same day. You must arrive 15 min prior to your time slot to check in and warm up. Arriving any later than the given testing time slot could result in no testing. We do not accommodate testing on any other day unless unforeseen weather circumstances arise.
    ○ Thursday August 14th. Time Table per Division coming soon.

During the competition:

  • Athletes must wear the BNT T-Shirt when competing on the course.
  • Your results will be tracked until your last completed obstacle.
  • After failure you are not allowed to continue your run, due to the high amount of sign ups. There may be a redemption time after the event finishes on your day depending on when the event finishes.
  • The BNT is a special event qualifier. This means the top 10 athletes per gender, per division and per country will qualify DIRECTLY to the WNL World Championships 2026.

After the competition:

  • Athletes will have the opportunity to have Redemption time on the BNT Course after the 2-Day Event finishes.
  • Redemption Time will be allocated to Monday August 18th. Time Table coming soon.
