Barbados Ninja Throwdown is a local sports entertainment competition that features some obstacles that are seen on the show, “American Ninja Warrior”, with a local twist to them. It encompasses individuals from different disciplines to complete the course in the fastest time possible.
The Barbados Ninja Throwdown is a 3-Day Sporting Event. Ninja action takes place on:

The BNT 2025 Competition welcomes athletes (5 yrs old & and up) from around the world! Come for the competition, come for the fun, and come for the vacation you most certainly deserve! This is literally a win-win situation you don’t want to miss out on!
Registration is now open until we’ve reached our cap of 300 athletes. Registration officially closes on July 15th 2026 if the cap is not reached before.

No. You can only register and compete in 1 division during the BNT.
The Romeos & Juliets is a brand-new non-competitive division specifically designed for athletes aged 30 and over. The focus is on participation, fun, and personal achievement. It offers a unique way for our seasoned ninjas to experience the BNT course and celebrate our 10th anniversary.
The Barbados Ninja Throwdown has a Qualifying Round (all athletes advance, results determine run order) and a single stage BNT Main Event Course, both using the same format as previous years: furthest fastest determining the placements.
Before the competition | BNT Qualifier:
Time Table per Division to be announced by email/social media on/before August 6th 2026. During the competition | BNT Main Event:
- Athletes get one chance to test selected BNT Obstacles during their Qualifying Run. THE COURSE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE PRIOR TO THE BARBADOS NINJA THROWDOWN EVENT.
- You must arrive 15 minutes prior to your time slot to check in and warm up. Arriving any later than the given BNT Qualifier time slot could result in no testing. We do not accommodate testing on any other day unless unforeseen weather circumstances arise.

Time Table per Division to be announced by email/social media on/before August 6th 2026. During the competition | BNT Main Event:
- BNT T-shirts will be handed out during sign-ups at course testing.
- BNT T-shirts must be worn during your run to compete.
- No alterations allowed; altering the shirt can lead to disqualification.
- Your results will be tracked until your last completed obstacle.
- After failure you are not allowed to continue your run due to the high amount of sign ups and our TV Production running on a schedule with live broadcasting on TV.
- Only the Kids (7U) & Romeos and Juliets divisions are allowed to continue their run after failure up until the first pool. We’re testing this exciting new feature to gather data and reactions before enabling this to other divisions in the future, if the results are positive.
- The BNT is a special event qualifier and has partnered with some of the most exciting leagues and competitions around the world. For more info click here.
- Athletes will have the opportunity to book a time slot for Redemption Time on the BNT Course.
- Redemption Time will be allocated to Monday August 17th between 9AM–3PM with booked time slots.

Empowering Female Ninjas: In collaboration with the WNA, all female athletes will receive 30 seconds extra on their time limit.
Continuing Runs: Athletes in the Kids (7U) and Romeos & Juliets divisions are allowed to continue their run after a failure until they reach the first pool on the course.

This is an optional event where athletes test the first 6 obstacles of the Main Event course. Your performance determines your Run Order (starting position) for the competition on August 15-16. For more infoclick here.
No. However, those who do not attend will be placed first in the Run Order. If multiple athletes miss the qualifier, their starting positions within that first group will be randomized.
The faster you clear the 6 qualifier obstacles, the later you will run in the Main Event (providing a tactical advantage). Last year’s podium winners are automatically placed at the end of the Run Order.
New for 2026, you can book a specific time slot for Redemption Time. This ensures smaller groups and more dedicated time for you to practice on the obstacles after the main competition.
A historic 2-hour finale on August 16th (7 PM) featuring five elite teams: Team Barbados, Canada, Europe, Indo-Pacific, and USA. It will be broadcasted live across the Caribbean. For more infoclick here.
Each team consists of 2 Males and 2 Females. We primarily select the top performers from the Elite Division based on their home region. If a region lacks enough Elite competitors, we look at top performers from other divisions in that region.
If a regional spot remains vacant (e.g., no female athletes from a specific region), we will select the next fastest athlete from the overall Elite leaderboard (by gender), regardless of their home region, to ensure the highest level of competition.

Shuttle Service Pickup/Drop-Off Times info will be announced by email one week prior to the BNT Event.
A shuttle service will be available to transport participants, their friends & families, etc., to and from the event venue. Pickup and drop-off times will be communicated to all athletes one week prior to the event. The return shuttle service will begin after the final division has completed their qualifying and competition run. Participants are free to leave the event site at any time at their own expense.
